I'm an absolute beginner. Can I join?We have Bootcamps and Courses suitable for beginners such as the "Intro To Retirement Bootcamp" and the "Medicare Bootcamp." Once you have completed the introductory course in a given area, you'll be eligible for more advanced topics. You can view background requirements in the "Who Should Take This" section of any Group Learning Module. We think it is vital for those with the least experience in money matters to take control of their financial futures as soon as possible. Time and knowledge are our greatest assets and they work together!

How much time should I dedicate to learning outside of live lessons? What's prework? Most students need to devote 1.5 hours to prework. Prework may consist of readings, data collection, and calculations. It is due before the next lesson. Prework allows you to crunch your numbers without divulging personal financial information to teachers or classmates. It is an essential tool in helping you learn the importance and applicability of these financial concepts.
-
Do I need to participate in live lessons?Student participation is highly encouraged, though not strictly mandatory for those who keep up with the material and understand how to utilize it. Students have different comfort levels asking questions and speaking up in class. This is understandable and we want to find ways for everyone to contribute. We are here to help whether talking or typing is most agreeable to you. We encourage live questions in the form of a hand raise or a text chat. If you have a sensitive question that you don't want to share with fellow students, you can always email your instructor directly.
-
What is the difference between a Bootcamp and a Course?Bootcamps and Courses are both live lessons with no more than 12 students over video conference. Bootcamps are faster paced and cumulative, meaning that knowledge learned in earlier lessons is built upon in later lessons. Classes are paced a bit slower and rely less heavily on knowledge from past lessons. They are sequential, but you won't be lost if you haven't mastered prior information.
-
What can I expect from a Bootcamp / Course?Lessons are live over video conference and taught once a week. You can expect a deep dive into a topic such as retirement, estate planning or home buying that takes place over several, interconnected lessons. Prework is done in your own time between lessons. It introduces you to new financial concepts and confirms your understanding of older ones. Prework may consist of readings, data collection and calculations. You have the option to use your own information to complete the prework. This is highly encouraged because it helps you form a more intuitive understanding of the financial concepts taught.
-
Do you need my personal financial information for this to work?Your comfort is key. We work together with as much or as little personal information as you want to provide. We teach you how to break down financial information and do calculations so you are empowered to deeply understand your situation and develop a plan. You can input real numbers without anyone else ever taking a look. Our goal is to uplevel your knowledge and allow you to confidently apply it to the real world.
-
